Like a sexy bikini, Chevreuil are an alluring French two-piece. Julien F. works the bottom (drums), and Tony C. handles the top (guitar). Sleepyheads who mumble things like Hella or Lightning Bolt in their dreams will surely awake to find themselves sharing the bed with a completely different animal. Creating loops and playing live through a series of four different amplifiers, Tony piles layer upon layer of melody, constructing an intricate web of line and form. This latticework of sound is held together by Julien's impeccable percussion, which serves to simultaneously unify as well as expand the soundscape. 'The heavy artillery is present with rhythmic and free segments, contrasting with incisive style and (mental) acrobatics. Sound volutes are coming out, symbolizing tribal arabesques. The revealed universe is like musical schizophrenia made of a deep singularity.
