| | | | | Description : | Far Corner was formed in the Spring of 2003. This quartet of keyboards, cello, bass, and drums blends contemporary classical chamber music with rock. One can hear influences from Stravinsky and Bartok and other contemporary classical giants, as well as from some of the great progressive rock bands of the 1970’s. On their second album, Far Corner combine and contrast group improvisation with completely scored works, composed in a contemporary, post-Bartokian style. Since their debut album in the fall of 2004, the band has kept up a steady performance schedule, with some highlights being performing at Progday in North Carolina in 2005 and opening up for Ozric Tentacles in summer, 2006. All four members of the group are well seasoned pros in either classical/contemporary classical or rock/progressive rock or both.
