| Description : | VENTURA is a Swiss indie-rock trio. Since 2002, those ex ILLFORD, ISCARIOTE and SHOVEL spread their own blend of noisy tension and melodic sweetness. Their passion for 90's independant rock music leave them close to bands like HELMET, HUM, SONIC YOUTH or UNWOUND.
2005, Ventura is part of the soundtrack for ROLLOW, a Swiss independant movie by Emanuelle Antille. On the same year, they released two split 10'' with DISCO DOOM (Zurich) and CORTEZ (Fribourg). The next year, 'Pa Capona', VENTURA's first album, is released on Get A Life! records and collects good press reactions. The band plays Swiss and French clubs opening for such fine acts like THE PAPER CHASE, MEDICA- TIONS, THEE MORE SHALLOWS, ENABLERS, QUI, DIANOGAH or FUTURE OF THE LEFT. With help from Le Romandie, a club from Lausanne, VENTURA have the chance to invite DAVID YOW, singer from THE JESUS LIZARD, SCRATCH ACID and QUI, for a collaboration: january 2010, they record two songs together, shoot a video and hit the road for a small tour through Switzerland, Fance and Germany. The recordings will be released on june 7 2010 as a 7''. VENTURA's second full length, called 'We Recruit', was recorded with Serge Morattel at REC Studio in Geneva during autumn 2009. It will be released on Africantape in june 2010 and shows a more direct and focused side of VENTURA's music. | |
