| Description : | Half Asleep is 21-year old Valérie Leclercq's musical project. Minimal but sumptuous instrumentations (guitar, piano, drums), extreme slowness, Half Asleep's music gently sails between sadcore, aerial pop and folk songwriting. Think about Low and Tara Jane O'Neil for the very smooth atmosphere... Her voice sometimes reminds us of Kate Wright (from Movietone) or Julie Doiron. Entirely recorded and mixed at home, Chaumont Gistoux (Belgium), in November and December 2003, 'Just Before We Learned To Swim' is Valérie's second album. Previously released as a limited edition CD-R by Parisian label Hinah, it is now re-released by Matamore in a remastered version, limited to 300 numbered copies. | |
