| Description : | Jealousy Party is one of the most significant creative music units in Italy and major act in the Burp Enterprise collective. The Florence-based ensemble, even if his members are spread all around the planet, is active since 1995.JP plays a kind of arrhythmic funk, free form rock'n'roll, disturbed and unsociable electronics and squirts of songs, imagining combinations of clusters of rhythm/pulse and the spontaneous development of prerecorded, electronic, electric and acoustic material. With suggestions from free, abstract and dance music, raw avant rock and instant composition, the mutant project expresses with lucid delirium and destructured transparency the synthesis among creative abstractism, expressive urgency, tragic avant-gardism, theatricality and punk attitude. No band sounds like this. Metti A Fuoco Le Orecchie. Founded by WJ Meatball and Mat Pogo, soon joined by Edoardo Ricci, the JP started as probably Burp collective's most radical outpost. The open personnel based on a trio of voice/expanded percussions/wind instruments, musical choices and the preference of acting in different situations and places than the usual, setted the right conditions in order to realize that as an exploratory mutant unit, the JP, had soon a specific identity. These years are documented by some publications, mainly cassettes, some tracks in underground compilations and by Now, JP's first album, published just in 2006. After Again came out, in 2008, the JP explored the possibilities of several formats expanding from the core trio to a nine piece ensemble. This one is documented by Phonometak 5, a split 10in together with american band Talibam! published by SoundMetak and Wallace labels, and one track in the compilation Niente Records Vol.1 focused on some italian unalligned musics. A possible quintet is well documented on Live. In 2009 the trio started the Plus projekt, a series of 4 meetings with related musicians. First one’s result i san album simply titled JP + Eugenio Sanna, produced by Burp Publications and Setola di Maiale, presented in March 2010 with a small italian tour. Is on his way to be mixed the second one with composer/sound designer Nicolas Wiese aka [-hyph-]. | |
