LEO SMITH, WADADA'S ORGANIC Heart's Reflections

Description

Lauded as 'one of the most vital musicians on the planet' by Coda, Wadada Leo Smith is one of the most visionary, boldly original and artistically important figures in contemporary American jazz and free music, and one of the most distinctive trumpet players of our time.

This double CD set is by his electric group Organic, a 14 piece band featuring major jazz names such Brandon Ross (Casandra Wilson), John Lindberg (String Trio of NY), Angelica Sanchez, Skuli Sverrisson, Pheeroan akLaff and others.

The album is filled with bold, electric grooves that will appeal to fans of Miles Davis' great electric work circa 1972-1975 as well as delicate breathy passages that are Wadada's unique sound.
