Take the coolness of Girls Against Boys and some other bands with heavy rock riffs, pack it into a driven guitar-soundwall, that is based on a very tense and quite groovy rhythm section and as the cherry on top: sexy & harsh female vocals. In July 2007 PSYCHO-PATH entered the studio to record their fifth full-length album. Late night sessions, drinking too much whiskey, half-awake percussion recordings, tambourine overdose, metronomes gone amok… The final result? The Ass-Soul Of Psycho-Path. The first album recorded with the new line up and the most varied, eclectic, yet accessible PSYCHO-PATH album to date. Also featuring a special guest on the back vocals, on the epic Bekkognition – Scott Bennett.

Merde, quand j'ai ce CD en main j'ai l'impression d'avoir la cover d'un disque de BORIS en main. Par contre musicalement on en est très loin... Mais autant le dire d'emblée de jeux, cette cover est vraiment très moche, et rien que ça, ça me donne pas envie de pousser plus loin l'écoute. En tout cas ça me donnerait pas envie de l'acheter... Cependant l'artwork en lui-même profite d'un digipack de haute qualité avec les jolis effets mat/brillant difficile à lire et tout ça.
PSYCHO-PATH semble être un gros groupe indierock en Slovénie. Un rock à classer dans la trop grande catégorie du rock alternatif, un truc un peu trop mielleux et convenu pour moi. Je dis rarement du mal d'un disque, mais là j'ai rarement réussi à l'écouter jusqu'au bout. Cela dit, j'avoue que ce n'est qu'une question de goût car pour le reste tout est bien comme il faut dans le genre. Des riffs pas trop compliqués, des trucs jamais trop méchants et surtout un chant féminin suffisamment gentil que pour attirer la gente masculine. Le disque a été enregistré par Bobby MacIntyre qui a également travaillé avec Bad Brains, Jimmy Girl, Lucinda Williams, Mark Lanegan… Bien. Le gars donne ce qu'il faut pour en faire un disque bien clean et qui rock. Mais ça le fait pas pour moi.
