| Description : | About one year ago Cheap Satanism Records received a mail from a band called Swilson. It just started its own label (Hi-Science) to try to put out its own stuff and Ronnie Bass' music. The band asked us if we had any advice on how to get its music heard in Europe. So we listened to the debut album entitled 'Demonology'. It was a blast. We thus thought that we should join forces if we want one day to rule the world. In the meantime here are 8 facts, 4 half-truths, and 1 lie about Swilson. Swilson is indigenous to Dirty Jerzy and the land where the Misfits began, but several years ago migrated west and now inhabits LA's iPunk scene. Swilson is not related to Brian, Robert Anton, E.O., Peter Lamborn, August, Colin, Woodrow, Charlie, or Mookie, at least not as far as anyone knows. Swilson took his degree in Demonology from TLA University in Philadelphia. Swilson worked as a drunken boardwalk barker, an angry video clerk, a stoned landscaper, and a hip NYC fishmonger before becoming a broke-ass rock musician. Swilson once helped solve a horrific quadruple murder in north Jersey. John Zorn once gave Swilson a map to Aleister Crowley's Abbey of Thelema in Cefalù, Sicily. Demonology, Swilson's first LP, was recorded in a woodshed in the San Fernando Valley and features the drumming of fourteen year-old Sophia DiMatteo. The record contains 12 songs about demons, girls, and demons. Swilson is an amateur historian of the music & politics of Jamaica, though the closest he’s come to Jamaica is Austin, Texas. Swilson tripped over Townes Van Zandt, ate pizza with Lee Ving, and got drunk with Donovan. Swilson has never hung out with Roky, Iggy, or Ozzy. Swilson’s neighbor is the fifth richest man in the world. Swilson won the Satanic Psychedelic Loner Rock Championship in 1989, 1997, and 2011. | |
