| Description : | Salon Alter Hammer, X-Mist Records and -273°C are proud to present this unique, intense and energetic piece of modern Noise-Rock meets Cyberpunk by YASS, a restless two-piece out of the dark woods of the Black Forest. Markus (drums, TEN VOLT SHOCK) and Frank (guitar, vocals, KURT, TEN VOLT SHOCK) started as a project back in the year 2000, held loose by random late-night jam-sessions in their rehearsal space. But in 2012 YASS became a serious band, as audiences in general became more open to unconventional line-ups and the idea, that creativity has many ways to float, even in 'Rock-Music'. Quite in the sense as D.C. legend Ian Svenonius once put it: '...a group doesn't even know what it is until they make something. And then they look at it and reflect on it, and people pretzel a meaning under it...' Having no constraints, except exploring their own sound and to evolve it with newly added loops and synth sounds, YASS emerged further on to its current state of affairs: driving-blistering guitar sound, heavy pounding beats, combined with dark and pulsating synthesizer-loops! Somewhere between early TRANS AM and SIX FINGER SATELLITE, or CHROME meeting with LIGHTNING BOLT... This 10-track debut was recorded in January 2015 by Markus Heinzel in Freiburg, mixed and mastered by Daniel Wichter over the course of early 2016 in Stuttgart. The release is a joint effort of X-MIST (XM-105) / -273° C (4K)/ SALON ALTER HAMMER (SAH#20) – Pressed on heavy 180g-vinyl, with a printed cardboard-innersleeve, and packed into a die-cut cover! | |
