DESCRIPTION |
| | EDIBLE WOMAN Everywhere at Once Label : Sleeping Star Year : 2010 Format : CD Style : Rock Availability : In stock
Price : 14.50 € - BUY
| | | | Description : | Taking their name from a Margaret Atwood novel, Edible Woman started in 2001 as a super-noisy instrumental trio composed by original band members Andrea Giommi (bass), Nicola Romani (drums) and Giacomo Governatori (guitar). After the addition of singer Luca Giommi, the band launched itself in a long series of concerts and finally took some time in 2004 to release their first album 'Spare/me Calf' (Psychotica Records).
Now fusing a monolithic approach to math rock with flashes of crystal-clear melodies and sounding like a weird mix of Jesus Lizard and Neil Young, Edible Woman was ready to hit the Italian and European stages once more
Released in 2007 Again for Psychotica records, 'The scum album' showed a bizarre amalgamation of hardcore, abrasive synth sounds and an almost pop approach to songwriting that gained the band excellent reviews and cemented their status on the Italian indie scene.
In early 2009 Edible Woman was back in the studio to record their most ambitious project to date. Mixing the schizophrenic versatility of the band with a new-found attention to sonic details and even pop rules, new album XYZ runs the gamut from hard electronic grooves to wild psychedelic rides, without forgetting the apocalyptic hardcore punk of their origins. Recorded and mixed by Mattia Coletti (from Hands, Sedia, Polvere) and Lorenzo Stecconi (Lento, Farwest Zombee) the album is another step in the continuous redifinition and reinventon of Edible Woman identity.
