DESCRIPTION |
| | GOLDSTON, LORI Film Scores Label : Sub Rosa Year : 2013 Format : LP Style : Experimental Availability : In stock
Price : 15.50 € - BUY
| | | | Description : | Lori Goldston is an American cellist. She was the touring cellist for Nirvana (1993-94) and appears on their live album MTV Unplugged in New York. She is a member of Earth, the Black Cat Orchestra, and Spectratone International.
Her debut album is focused on various film scores from Carl Theodor Dreyer The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) / Yasujiro Ozu Passing Fancy (1933) / Linas Phillips Bass Ackwards (2010) / Britta Johnson Crashing Waves (2010) / Vanessa Renwick Charismatic Megafauna (2011) / Mighty Tacoma (2011). Featuring appearences by Dylan Carlson (Earth), Tara Jane ONeil (King Cobra, Retsin)
Classically trained and rigorously de-trained, possessor of a restless, semi-feral spirit, Lori Goldston is a cellist, composer, improvisor, producer, writer and teacher based in Seattle. Her voice as a cellist, amplified or acoustic is full, textured, committed and original. A perpetual inquirer, she wanders recklessly across borders that separate genre, discipline, time and geography, performing in clubs, cafes, galleries, arenas, concert halls, sheds, ceremonies, barbecues, and sanctuaries.
