| Description : | GSL's best-selling release to date is the debut 'full-length' from THE LOCUST. Clocking in at about 13 minutes, the record wastes no time in pummeling anyone within earshot. Combining a variety of sounds and aesthetics (CROSSED OUT, DEICIDE, DEVO and MOTLEY CRUE all come to mind), THE LOCUST have amassed a loyal following far and wide, and this record is a good indication as to why. Brutal, relentless blasts of 45-second mayhem whose titles take longer to read than the songs do to play: 'Skin Graft at Seventy-Five Miles an Hour', 'Fixed Companionship, Ghost Town Irrationality', 'High-Maintenance Libido, Bring the Whole Family'. These are cynical, scathing reactions to suburban myopia, tailormade for a generation of attention-deficit latchkey kids. 'Camo'- colored vinyl on the 12', and the CD is a 3'. NOT a mini-disc, but a standard CD with a couple inches trimmed off. | |
