| Description : | For years, Paris-based Frenchman DAVID SNUG has been active in the alternative comic book scene. His specialty: autofiction and talking about indie pop-rock with a lot of passion and just as much bad faith.
With ALDA LAMIEVA, he also composes and produces his own music under the name TROTSKI NAUTIQUE. The name is an untranslatable pun that evokes both the bolshevik revolution and privileged water sports. If the duo likes to mention DAFT PUNK and the French Touch among its main influences, it's not to be taken too seriously either. Largely made at home using free software (and a soprano recorder), Trotski Nautique's music is more reminiscent of the minimal synth-pop of the early 1980s (but with today's efficient beats): among other things, the flexi-discs of SOFT CELL and OMD or, already in France, MATHÉMATIQUES MODERNES and DEUX. With a lot more humor. Often gently provocative.
