They are all real, the Whanganui river in New Zealand has legal rights and has to be treated like a 'human' being and you can find the tree that owns itself in Athens, Georgia, USA.
These are examples of 'agency' but not as we know it. Trees, rivers, mountains and other animals act too, and seeing them in relation to each other and to humans might provide us a whole new idea of responsibility.
