| Description : | 'All The Time' is the first feature film by AMELIE DERLON CORDINA. Its title is taken from the novel 'The Devil All the Time' by DONALD RAY POLLOCK, a book pervaded by human violence and tragedy. The film is not as dark, but it shares this perspective on the brutality of the world, on the traces that violence leaves in bodies and minds.
Everything revolves around a live concert in a labyrinthine venue in Brussels. The music, electro and melancholic, haunts every corner. The camera glides from one face to another, from a fragment of speech to a song, from a laugh to a silence. Realism and reverie merge seamlessly, always with a touch of irony, almost of theatricality. All The Time explores that moment when tragedy becomes narrative, when telling a story becomes a way to catch one's breath, and when, for the space of a night, three women find a form of resistance in the very act of speaking. All The Time is a musical and choral film, constructed like a nocturnal mosaic, centered around a concert that the characters either attend or participate in. The original music was composed by DAVID VOTRE CHAZAM, the brilliant musician-performer; surrounded by the multi-instrumentalist RINT MENNES, the cellist CELINE CHAPUIS, and the musician-actress KAAT ARNAERT. This quartet forms a fictional musical group that plays real pieces and quickly confronted the reality of preparing a genuine concert. From the very first rehearsals, the 'sound' of All The Time was established: hypnotic, electric, and infused with melancholy. | |
