 | YOWIE Taking Umbrage Label : Skin Graft Records Year : 2025 Format : CD Style : Rock Availability : In stock Price : 15.80 € - BUY | |
| Description : | The fourth YOWIE album.Unmatched for their a singular, befuddlingstyle of hyper-composed rock, YOWIE'sinstantly recognizable approach baffles andexcites listeners. Yet, despite beingunabashedly unnatural and counter intuitiveat every turn, YOWIE grooves. For 'Taking Umbrage', the ambition of thematerial demanded YOWIE assemble an in-ternational lineup with impeccable credentials. The band now features Daniel Kennedy(also of the band Cleric, which has its ownprogressive metal oeuvre, and has workedwith the likes of John Zorn and TreySpruance), as well as Jack Tickner (Basil'sKite, Wollongong, and solo microtonalwork), in addition to founding member,Defenestrator (YOWIE, YOWIE and YOWIE).'Taking Umbrage' is both the group'slongest album and the one that took thelongest to create, and one listen will showlisteners why. There is no fast-trackingYOWIE's meticulous approach to composition.'Taking Umbrage' raises the bar evenhigher, defying the boundaries of rock toforge a new path full of twists and turns thatwill challenge and excite aficionados ofmath rock, prog rock, RIO, extrememetal... and the outer limits andextremities of genres yet to be identified. | |
