| Description : | Captain Quentin's music can be described as post-punk, math, or perhaps even noise. The band, whose name is a combination of the aberrant Captain Beefheart and Quentin from William Faulkner's 'The Sound and the Fury', got together in the fall of 2005, in the province of Reggio Calabria. An EP containing two tracks ('My Untitled EP', self-produced in 2006) was followed by their full-fledged debut 'Certe Cose Determinate'. Both were analogically recorded at Red House Recording Studio in Senigallia (AN). The album (8 tracks/40 minutes of music) got positive reviews by the press and industry webzines as soon as it was released, and received outstanding feedback from both French and American radios. It was distributed in Spain by Discos Buen Pony. After two years of live gigs all over the peninsula, the band started recording their second in-studio album in June 2010. The artistic production was assigned to guru Fabio Magistrali, the man behind the best Italian productions of the 90’s and onwards. The album was recorded in one week, amidst the quiet countryside of Salento. The result? An album containing 9 tracks of mathematically structured music with afro rhythms, prog elements, and a strong synth-pop component. | |
