| Description : | The word belleclose (in lowercase letters) comes from Christine Le Bœuf's french translation of Siri Hustvedt's novel The enchantment of Lily Dahl. Singer-songwriter Catherine Thieron (voice, guitar) took this name in springtime 2002 and gave her first gig at L'Escalier (Liège, Belgium) in september 2005. Since then, she has opened for artists such as Paula Frazer, An Pierlé and Troy Von Balthazar at places like Botanique, Rockhal, Soundstation and The Luminaire (may they rest in peace!). After appearing on the compilation 'Star(tin) Pop 3' in 2007 and transforming her project into a quintet the following year, belleclose returned as a solo-artist to release her first e.p., 'stories untold', in september 2010 with the precious help of graphic designer Hélène Hauglustaine and musicians Joël Keutgen and Gaëtan Streel. Belleclose plays a feminine songwriting, where a simple guitar contrasts with sensitive lyrics and a mature voice. | |
