| Description : | Once condemned by Heartattack for their 'shameless, indie' rock, STARLITE DESPERATION were a shining example of the perfect marriage of traditional rock n roll and sinister, postmodern intellectualism. The 3 original members of(present on only this first of the bands two LP's) were a great formula in terms of songwriting, and Show You... is the obvious result of years' worth of collaboration. Each musician has a personality unique to his playing which grows evident through the course of the record and, coupled with the 'aged' recording, suggests intimate familiarity with the likes of the ROLLING STONES, GUN CLUB and TELEVISION. A critical favorite (everywhere but Heartattack!), the band subsequently recorded with ex-BAD SEED Kid Congo Powers and toured the US repeatedly in support of Dischord's MAKE UP, before disbanding at the end of 2000. 11 tracks. | |
