Carboniferous is the last and probably the finest Zu's album. Featuring Mike Patton and King Buzzo from Melvins among the others, Zu (Massimo Pupillo at bass, Luca T. Mai at sax, Jacopo Battaglia at drums) now move away from jazz-core of Igneo to meet a sort of a metallic and solid math-noise with pulverizing riffs and histeric sax assaults. Obscure and wild. Released in 2009 in cd format on Ipecac Recordings, Carboniferous now comes pressed for the first time on 180 gr. vinyl, in massive gatefold cover and with a new awesome artwork by the roman artist Scarful. 1500 copies on black vinyl. | |
