DESCRIPTION |
| | TERROR AT THE OPERA Snake Bird Blue Label : No Sides Records Year : 2004 Format : CD Style : Punk / Folk Availability : In stock
Price : 10.70 € - BUY
| | | | Description : | In 2002, in Detroit, singer/guitarist Gretchen Gonzales teamed up with Faith Gazic, who'd stumbled into the accordion, and form TERROR AT THE OPERA. It's reasonable to qualify TERROR AT THE OPERA as fin-de-siecle romance reinvented for pop culture, yet the parallels that are the easiest to draw between the band and the past are the most nominal as well. No past is ever really attainable again, even in a reenactment - memory is immediately, inevitably subject to poetic license; it's the alchemy that transforms fact not into a fiction but a fantasy. Gonzales and Gazic invert the cycle by extracting tangible sounds and visions from a make-believe place.
